Died on me parking

With the higher resting RPM it seems to be ok for now. I pre-emptively ordered a new MAF sensor since the other one is original from '02. While the fuel pump tested high, i am doubting it's effect since it's 5 years old vs 23 yrs old like the MAF. I've driven it now for 3 days including monitoring TPS and RPM while at stop signs and red lights, rarely dipping below 600 RPM

After swapping the new MAF in Friday, I may adjust the TPS (i guess I'll need to do it while running to monitor with the scanGauge readings) back to normal or just let the ECU figure it out.

Okay, I did a bit more testing today. The mass air flow sensor resistance is 1.87 khms and the spec in the manual is 2.2 to 2.7 so that's low. The voltage does fluctuate as it should when the power is on so that part is okay. For the throttle body itself, the motor sounds like there might be some friction when activating. But the motor resistance is within the spec as is the clutch as is the throttle position sensor as is the accelerator pedal position sensor. The fuel pump resistance is .6 ohms and it should be .2 to .3 according to the manual so that is high. This is testing it at the plug under the passenger rear seat, not the pump itself. Because the fuel pump bracket assembly has an extension wire essentially from the top of the plate down to the pump. So it's not technically testing the pump itself. When I replace the fuel pump 5 years ago I only replaced the pump and not the assembly. So I'm wondering if the problem is just the wire harness but I won't know until I drop the fuel tank and I don't want to do that unless I'm sure this is the issue because that is a pain.
I also went ahead and cleaned the entire throttle body assembly pretty well, including the motor vent on the top which was pretty dirty. The plate itself looked okay
FWIW, I just resolved a hot no start on my 3rd gen. no codes and everything else was checking out ok. With over 300k on it I figured I'd just replace the fuel pump since I don't know when it was done if ever. Upon inspection found a rather new looking fuel pump, appeared to be a denso but can't confirm. What I did notice was that power harness to the fuel pump to be pretty corroded so I just replaced the wires along with the pump. Haven't had an issue since. I'm pretty sure previous owner replaced fuel pump only and continued to have this issue.

that's what i did when i replaced the pump, used the same "sending assembly" that's something to consider as well. wouldn't be a bad idea to replace it either way, can't be too expensive

i tracked down the OWM part # 90980-11078. However it lists it as 96-00 and not for 2002. But...there's no replacement otherwise listed on the parts pages. and our fuel sending unit looks the exact same so it must be that one.
