Diesel/Chain Noises

Riding around town hearing some chain like noise (i think its the timing chain) anyways it starting to sound like a diesel, im guessing this is normal? (all my mods are at the bottom except the long tube headers...its taking about a freakin month to be delivered (urdusa).... i gots 10000 miles on the 4.0 and having the engine makin deisel noise is kinda strange. any suggestions?:shrug:

Doesn't sound normal to me. My 08 V6 is nice and quiet. Start with the easy stuff. Have you checked the oil? Made sure you have no exhaust leaks? Exhaust isn't rubbing on anything? How is it running?

At idle if I lift the hood on mine I can hear what maybe some would call chain noise. I believe it is the injectors working. Other than that no noise at all.

hmm i always had a small exhaust leak, but when i adjusted to leak less it started to diesel! i redid some of the exhaust and reseted my ecu so far its sounds normal, but still sounds like a lawn mower lol (chain noise). hopefully its gone for good
