My car is currently expierencing mechanical toubles and thus I have been put into the mood of looking into what 'could be'...
Option A, of course, it to get the stock engine I have repaired.
Option B, on the other hand, is an unknown to me, and therefore, all the more intriguing. I WANT TO PUT A DIESEL ENGINE IN MY RIG! The reasons are numerous; the power to tow, a newer engine, being able to run biodiesel, and the purring of a happy engine.
I know for a fact that they do make the V6 for second generations... at least I think I know that for a fact... just not in the USA (thanks, toyota...) Regardless, I would like some direction on where to look, what it would take, what it would cost, why I'm crazy or not-so-crazy, and if it is even possible to drop the diesel V6 in the place of the standard gasoline, and what changes to the electrical, transmission, etc. would need to be made.
My rig has 164,400 miles and is the standard 3.0L V6 with the 5-Speed Manual Transmission and Stock T-case.
