Diff fluid change question

Need to change diff fluid and transfer case.

Has anyone used an impact wrench with a hex bit socket on the bolts? I saw where you can purchase impact rated hex bit sockets. What's not to love?

Not certain that an impact would fit. Be careful these plugs distort easier than you'd imagine. I've always used a breaker bar, heat, and wd-40.

Harbor Freight has impact sockets for cheap. But my impact gun wasn't powerful enough. Eventually heat and a breaker bar broke it.

Impact will not fit (front diff fill bolt) and even if it does it might strip the hex bolt easily... Do yourself a favor and soak it overnight with Seafoam deep creep or pblaster before any attempts. After you've successfully drained/refilled, tighten it snug but not necessarily to spec because they somehow get really tight again after a while. Snug should be just fine, they will NOT unscrew themselves loose.
