Diff wheels instead of Spidertrax?

I just bought an 03 sport and wanted to lift it. Unfortunately my wheels are very corroded because it is a florida 4runner.

So I was needing to get rims anyways and I figured there were rims with the correct backspacing....any options?

Rims with the correct backspace are always a better option than hub adapters, safetywise. Just have to look around to find the right set for you.

Anybody know what backspacing would be needed? I know I have to get 17" rims because its the sport but I have no idea about backspacing.

My goal is to put on 285/70/17's and I know those rub without additional backspacing

17x8, 6 on 5.5 Bolt Pattern
Backspace = 4.5 in.
Max Load = 2200lbs
Finish = Flat Black
Hub Centric = No
Offset = 0mm

Will these work? Sorry if it's a stupid or asked question but I don't want to get this wrong.

I don't know the specs you would need to run 285's but I can show you what 17x8 rims with 0 offset look like on my 4Runner.
I have these.
Enkei Wheels - Truck & SUV Wheels - RT6

Obviously you would need a different offset as I have 255/70R17 in this photo. 285's would stick out beyond the fenders.

Well the problem I'm running into is the hub vs lug centric. The 17x8 is lug which appears to be bad but the only hub centric 17x9 has -6mm(negative) offset and there were threads with 12mm offset having issues.

I think that rubbing will be an issue even if you change the backspacing or add spacers. Fender / Liner / mudflap trimming will be required to avoid rubbing but it is easy to do. The bigger issue is; the tire contacting the UCA, which 285's will do. Changing the backspacing or adding spacers will take care of that.

There are a few threads about trimming the fender liner to put the 285's in, no biggie!
