Difference between Factory Running Boards

Hey All,

I know that the Running Board Horse has been beat to death--but I swear I just saw it move, so I'm gonna beat it some more.....

I just got a 2011 Limited Blizzard Pearl, I want to get running boards, not because I think they look good, but it does make it easier for SWMBO to get into the truck. They also do help keep all the crud off the side of the truck during winter here in MA.

My question is this: I see 2 "Factory" running boards for sale, the so called "SouthEast Edition" for about $280 and then the "Factory" running boards usually sold by Toyota Dealers for ~ $599

Can anyone shed some light on the difference between these two "Factory" running boards---I know there are some aftermarket boards offered, but I'm not interested in those.

To address the OP's original question, I do not believe that there is a difference between the 'Southeast' version and any other (USA) version of the factory running boards. For some reason, Toyota initially offered the running boards on the 5th gens being delivered to southeast Toyota dealers while keeping this option in other areas of the country as 'unavailable'. It didn't take long for the SE dealers to find an extra market for the running boards via ebay. However, in Canada (and maybe other countries), a different style/decorated running board was offered as standard equipment on their T4Rs. In the USA, the OEM running boards should be one-in-the-same.

Edit: This should apply to the OEM running boards for the SR5 and Limited; not the TE.
