Differences in All-terrain/ Mud-Terrain tires

I need new tires and I need help deciding on which ones i should get.
I have BFG MT KM 2's, and i love them, but since this rig is my daily driver, im looking at all-terrains cause they last longer.
My Options-

BFG All-Terrains
Nitto Terra Grappler AT's
Toyo Open Country AT's

or if i get what i really want,

BFG KM 2's MT's
Nitto Terra Grappler MT's
Toyo Open Country MT's

M/T'z more mula 4 gas but looks good
A/T'z saves more gas but dont look as tuff.
I guess it depends on how hard u offroad.

You should check into the new Goodyear Dura Trac's. I have not personally owned them, but I have heard a lot of good things about them so far. These are the ones I plan on getting for my wifes T4R. They seem to be a good mix between the two MT's and AT's. Here are a few pics.

if you have a les schwab close by i went with the wild contry xtx sports great all around tire since my rig is a dd and i dont wheel it enough to need mud tires and didint want a sissy a/t either

All of those tires have pretty good reputations so you probably can't go wrong with any of them. Tire rack has a fairly extensive user review section that's usually worth a read.

I had some Mickey Thompson MTZs that I thought worked pretty well too. I don't know where they fit in the price range, but they got me everywhere I needed to go and back. They were on their way to lasting 40K miles before I traded the truck in.

Having run 2 of the tires you are looking at here are my thoughts. I have the BFG AT's on my Nissan. Pretty quite, good for the sandier conditions here in FL, muds dig in. Have the Toyo AT's on the wifes 4runner. Quiet, good ride. Offroad wise it hasn't really seen dirt yet, but they are good in the wet and snow when we go up north. I'm actually looking at the Hankook Dynapro MT RT03 when I go to replace the tires on my truck. They got very good reviews for on and off road, price, and tread life. Just another thought for ya.

I replaced my 'flops with GY Wrangler Silent Armor's. Very pleased with performance and wear. Not cheap.

EDIT - One of the primary reasons for my tire selection was for snow and ice. Seeing how you are not in the snow belt, these may not be the tire you are looking for,

I'm in the exact same shopping isle as you are. I have really liked my Nitto AT's, but am wanting to go over to the MT side. My one complaint is that in deep snow, the AT's just haven't cut it. Granted the one time I planted her pretty well, but it seemed to me if I could just get a bit more "bite", she could of pulled through. Has anyone looked at the Goodyear MT's at WalMart? I can't remember what their name was, but it wasn't one that I've seen talked about a whole lot. I think they were called Wranglers like the posting above mine, but they were MT's.
