Differences in SR5, and Limited

Im looking into buying a 3rd generation 4Runner, and i dont know the major differences between the SR5 model, and the Limited models. I know they look a little different, but is there anything mechanically different?

The 4WD system is different on some years between SR5s and Limiteds...

Despite the transfercase being different between the 96-98 SR5 and Limited, is there any difference in function? From that post, it just seems like preference between pushing a button for 4Hi and shifting to 4Hi. Is it a different transfercase or just a different shifting mechanism? If so, which one is more durable?
