Different set-up, and a simple question: should I be getting 4 gauge wires?

Thanks for your input guys. In the end, I decided to get more boom.

So aside from the Alpine headunit, I got this:

Subwoofer:

The rockford subs and infinity amp seems like the best bang for the buck, so that's why I got it.

My question now is, should I be using 4, 1, or 0 gauge wires?

Clemsonfan15, I know you said 1 or 0 gauge. But it seems like the recommended is 4 gauge.

Hey man. That amp puts out at most 600 at 2 ohms. I doubt it does that much, well see though.

You'll be fine with a quality 4 gauge kit.

The subs you got are DVC 4 ohm. This means you can wire them to a 4 ohm or 1 ohm load. The problem is that that amp is not stable at 1 ohm.

actually 600w is RMS which is believable. Doing the math of 75 amps of current into the amp x 14.4 volts = 1080 watts into the amplifier. 600 watts RMS/ 1080 total watts = .56 efficiency which is very reasonable using Class D technology.

400 watts is its rated RMS at 4 ohms which is what those two rockfords want anyway... Personally I would have gotten a different amplifier but the one you got should work fine.

Alright, thanks guys. 4 Ga wires it is.

As for the amp, I just went by what my friend said. He highly recommended infinity amps, and told me to get this one. I didn't know much so I just place my trust in him.
