Different Sound After New Battery

Strange question, but has anyone ever replaced a battery and the car sounded different when cranking it over?

I’ve replaced several batteries in the past and the sound when turning it over always remained the same. I just went from the original Panasonic to a Northstar 24F and I can hear a difference in sound when turning it on. It’s hard to explain. Almost like a different tone when it starts up.

It seems to take the same amount of time to start. The Panasonic battery was 5 years old though so that could be it.

My Panasonic was 7 year’s old when I replace it. There was a very noticeable difference in starter performance with the new battery.

I noticed a lot faster ignition firing when I switched to my odyssey, can't really speak to the sound though

The cells in a five year old battery will be noticeably deteriorated when compared to a new one. Also, a group 24 battery will typically have a higher cranking amp rating than a group 35. Additionally, an AGM battery will have a slightly higher output voltage. These two things will contribute to a faster cranking starter.

Old battery was prob weak. The change in sound happens over time so you don't typically notice until you swap it out.
