Digitale climtate control swap?

Is it possible to put the digital climate control into a non limited 4 runner or a pre 99 limited? I have a 98 limited. If so would you only have to swap the unit itself or is there other things behind it. I know in a lot of cars there are just cables that slide the doors open etc under the dash. Thanks

The auto control is nice...when it works.

To tell you the truth, with the known problems of this control, I would just as soon find out how to remove the auto control and install the manual knobs in my 2000 Limited so I don't have to worry about it anymore...

But that's my opinion!!!

It is such a task to do the swap that I've never even read about it being done. It's not just the unit but also the motors that switch the venting and all the wiring would make it a monumental task to swtich over from teh manual controls.
