Disable rear 12V outlet?

What is the easiest way to disable the rear cargo 12V outlet? My golden retriever puppy rides in the back all the time and I would hate for her to lick the power point and get a nasty shock. I have never once used the power in the back so I don't mind disabling it. I would imagine it is as simple as pulling a fuse somewhere.

Anyone have any insight on this or which fuse controls that outlet?

First - let me say I love dogs. She would only do it once! There is not enough power to hurt her or worse. Sereously, she would just learn a lesson. I wouldn't go to the trouble of disabling it. Just put a plug in it that she cant remove.

I'm guessing the rear 12v adaptor shares a fuse with the front adaptor but I'm just guessing.

Like sbbamafan said, it probably wouldn't hurt your dog even if he did lick it. It's only 3 more volts than a 9v battery and I put my tongue on those to see if they still have a charge. I just don't know what the current draw is.

The front and rear outlets are on a shared fuse. The simplest way would be to remove the ground wire (green) on the back of the rear outlet. Place some electrical tape on it and be done.

Your dog would have to make a real effort to get his tongue all the way to the back of the outlet to get to the +12v contact. Even then, it wouldn't hurt the dog, the current path would be entirely through the tongue and not damaging.

I had the opposite problem on my 99 4runner, the outlet wasn't working. Look in the manual for the fuse layout and then pull the fuse. I think it's a 15V one. There should be a little tool in the fuse cover for pulling them out. The cigarette lighter outlet should still work but the lower ones and rear ones will be disabled.
