After installing my Superflex springs and 5100's from ToyTec, I did some back yard flexing to see how clearance was, and also to see how much I need to lower my bumps.
I was disappointed when my 5100's bumped out before my "35's" (315/70R17 K02) even came close to tucking- or even hitting the quarter/flare for that matter.
I understand I have more droop, and I also understand you have to compromise somewhere if you're using stock mounting locations.
But I figured running a pretty big tire, I would still be able to stuff it pretty well.
Now- not wanting to ruin my shocks by bumping them out too hard- I'll have to put bump stops in to stop my up travel much shorter of where I was hoping.
Droop is cool, but I'm more into stuffing the tire up as far as the body allows, and running bumps to limit body interference- not suspension limitations.
Here is a before pic with stock rear shocks-
Touching the quarter in that pic.
And here's with the new shocks-
With sway bars front and rear-
And the real reason the ramp was setup-
Am I the only one surprised by the uptravel loss?
I lost about 2" of uptravel at the edge of the tire(not actual shock travel, obviously).
