disintegrating seat

I keep finding pieces of what looks like muffin crumbs under my seat and the first time I thought it was crumbs and I threw them out. Then I noticed them again but didn't think much of it and I vacumed them up. Well there are more now and I am just going to leave them there because I have an appointment at the dealer for inspection and warranty for pulsating brakes. I also told them to look at the seat because it is falling apart.

Anybody else having the foam in their seats coming apart and falling under the seat?

I have no idea what they will be willing to do but I sure don't want to get stuck with a truck out of warranty that has no seat bottom left.

BTW I weigh 160lbs so I don't think that is causing it.

Yeah, too many cheese steaks!

But even if I was a fatty I wouldn't expect the seat to fall apart already.

I can't wait to hear what the dealer has to say. I bet they suggest I lose some weight.:p

Let me know what happens with the seat. My '03 Sport is doing the same thing, but I haven't had a chance to take it in yet.

I'll check this out on my SE, have not yet noticed a problem. Let us know what the dealer says. Shouldn't this be covered on the 3 year 36K mile warranty?

I'm certainly expecting that it will. I also have some brake pulsation that I asked them to look at and I hope they don't try to make me pay for that as an inspection item. I'm a bit of a pessimist when dealing with the service deptartment, maybe they will surprise me. I'll find out in a few hours when I go to pick it up.

Well they ordered me a new seat pad and when it comes in they will install it all under warranty. Also they machined the rotors to fix my brake pulsation, not real happy about this especially since I have the sport and didn't think I would run into warping problems with the bigger brakes. Oh well it was done under warranty so I'm not going to worry about it

This is funny because I am 300 pounds plus and never have had a problem with a seat and now I am thinking of when I order my 4Runner, will the seat pad go this?

Toyota sure seems to be having problems with the seats in the new 4Runner. I've never heard anyone else with Toyotas have issues with seats.

Did Toyota design the seats or were they outsourced?
