Stopped at Buc-ee's
Stoppped at Buc-ee's yesterday afternoon the place was amazing, like a Wal-Mart and a truck stop had sex and had a child. You can buy smokers at this place...
Here are some pics from the day before.
I've decided that Texas picnic/parking areas are trucker free range toilets... They wreak of piss.
Here's one from the Red Roof Inn we stayed at in Eastern San Antonio. Kind of the wrong side of town/nothing good happens past midnight kinda place. Notice I'm the A-hole taking up 5 places...

Bucee's has become almost an institution down here. Decent coffee and they *always* have clean restrooms. Great for those of us with kids and their tiny bladders.
Funny you mention the smoker thing. They used to be one of the only places carrying really nice 1/4" smokers outside of high-end BBQ/patio stores. I almost bought one of them before deciding on a Primo.
Safe travels through the rest of the state!
Not that you're speeding pulling that trailer, but watch your roll when you cross into Louisiana. Local law loves them some out of state plates.

I was really impressed with Buc-ee's I thought $980 for a small smoker was a bit excessive though.
I'm actually South of Houston now, we are going to check out the Space Center today, something I've wanted to do for the last 20 years. I've passed though twice in the last 8 years and never thought to stop.
I'm not looking forward to Louisiana's bridges, it's all bump bump bump bump bump. Any idea where I can park a trailer safely in New Orleans and not get my trailer jacked?

All depends on the smoker 
. Mine would probably be considered small by many and it was well north of that. It's Texas though, and Central Texas at that. We take our BBQ a bit seriously. LOL!
I grew up in Houston but it's been years since I've been down to the Space Center. Always liked going though, and need to bring the kids now that they're old enough.
Can't help on the New Orleans front. I go there for business from time to time but really don't know the city well enough to make a recommendation I'm comfortable with.

Auxillary Transmission Cooler
Well I made it to New Bern, NC a couple of weeks ago and just never got around to posting updates. So here is a quick write up on my Aux tranny cooler.
Mount the cooler on the front of the radiator pushing the ziptie looking things through all three. Use the clips that secure the ties and cut the excess off. I'm short so I used a Homer bucket to get back there.
I bought some transmission hose from Napa because the hose that was included looked a bit thin. They didn't have 10mm hose but the 3/8" (9.5mm) hose does the job. The hose from the radiator to the cooler was 23" and the cooler to tranny was 29".
I didn't like the idea of fittings that screwed apart so I bought a 3/8" double ended brass fitting which was inserted into the 29" hose into the tranny return hose.
The blue mark on the line is the return line to the tranny. But always double check before installing anything.
Sorry for the odd angle it's tight in there.
Connect your lines appropriately and run them through the foam and connect to the cooler.

Belt Molding replacement
Well I've been putting this off long enough and I'm still not sure why. It's super easy to do, just roll the windows down and pop out the old moldings. I'll post some pics in a bit.
But for now here's the part numbers for all doors (left/driver, right/passenger):
Front Right: 75711-35011 $40.02
Front Left: 75712-35011 $40.02
Rear Right: 75721-35011 $40.02
Rear Left: 75722-35011 $40.02
Rear hatch: 68292-35041 $20.35
Notice the rubber strip is gone?
Back hatch weather strip was pretty bad too.
Pops up fairly easy.
New strip goes in easy too.
Back strip has to come up from the middle first, left or right comes out next. Just go in reverse when you install the new one.

I decided I wanted to be cool like everyone else and ordered some light bars.
I bought a Blue Sea Systems 6 Fuse Block w/negative (model 5025). I ran a 4ga ground to the frame and a 4ga positive to a Pacific Accessory Corp (PAC) 80A relay (mobile audio relay and battery isolator).
Here's the 80A relay, I ran a green wire through an exsisting hole the firewall from when I had a sub installed and tapped the subwoofer amp remote wire (accessory):
I ran a 4ga positive with inline fuse to the 80A relay, and a 10ga ground from the relay to the body ground.
Here's everything wired up and mounted, for the 30A relay I ran the 85 (GRND) and 30 (POS) to the fuse block. 87 will go to the light, 86 (green) will be connected to the AOB switch I bought with the group buy (waiting for delivery...)
Not bad if I do say so myself. Wiring gurus let me know if I fudged anything up.

It's temporarily wired and working. I have two issues to take care of. 1) the wire through the firewall needs a grommet and 2) I'm not happy with the add-a-circuit. I have a set of various grommets arriving tomorrow to take care of #1.
Did you use an add-a-circuit to get power for the switch? With the add-a-circuit plugged into the fuse box, the cover no longer fits. What are people doing about that? Leave the cover in the glove box? I did find a different type of connector that wraps around one leg of a fuse and should be much lower profile in the box. I have some on order to try. This is what it looks like now.
But I still haven't turned on the lightbar at night to see what it really looks like.

I haven't received my switches or light bar yet, I think I'm going to tap into the same subwoofer amp remote wire as I did to switch on the battery isolator. Other than that I haven't really gotten that far yet.
I used these to tap the wire. (I changed it to a add a circuit like you had posted.)

The gf sent me a pic of the 4" flood lights that I was supposed to get a couple of weeks ago. The company had mistakenly sent me 4" spot lights, we worked out a half refund because of the inconvenience and the fact that I could use those lights in a later project and they put in the order for the floods.
I also bought some Amber covers.

That trip from AZ to NC must have been amazing. Last year I moved from VA to Houston TX in my 2014
I will be moving again from Texas to Maine in a couple weeks with some stops along the way. I will for sure be installing a trans cooler this time. The one you posted looks like a great option for a good price.
