DIY Sliders?

I really prefer the look of square tube sliders, and haven't come across any that I really like for my '16 Trail. I'm leaning toward fabricating my own. I saw posts with layouts/measurements in threads for earlier Gens, but no 5th. Has anyone made their own weld-on sliders, or have any advice for fabrication/mounting?

Thanks!

I think storm runner was fabbing up a pair

I built a set of combo square/round sliders for my 4runner. Compared to my last 4runner these were super easy to build. Lots of attachment options on a 5th gen frame rail - even with KDSS.

I built a pair for mine with KDSS. Getting the mounting feet to go around the KDSS was a pain. Took me two full days to do the driver's side with all the trial and error. The passenger side I had done in three hours.

So far I just have the actual slider portion done but I still want to add tube bump outs. I am not sure when I will have time to do that though so I went ahead and painted and mounted the slider portion. I think I have a couple pictures on my build thread

Thanks! I will take a look. Non-KDSS here, so I'm feeling pretty optimistic.

Had some built up custom by a local builder here in NC. Used rectangle tubing angle cut front & back with a bumpout in the rear for tire as well as the little guy to help in and out. I chose not to have a bumpout to the front as i constantly was having mud/ dirt on my pants as a result of always having to step way out to get out of the truck.

Oh yeah if you don't have KDSS then it will be a breeze. There are a bunch of pre-drilled and threaded holes in the frame you can use. I built mine out of 1.5" x 1.5" tube with 1/8" wall. I did four mounting feet on each side and they sit just right under the pinch weld so they are tucked pretty well
