DIY Trail Edition Taillight/Headlight Feeler

So Ive got some extra tailights coming in (Thanks TxCJ3) and I've seen some folks concerned with the DIY head and tailights. Well I have a solution for you.

I'm going to start a swap out plan(like i use to for the Tundras) to give you the option to buy a set or trade out your current set for a fee of 125 bucks.

So you can either buy a set for 275 or send me your taillights and 125 bucks for the swap out. I am very particular with the products I sell, so if you have chipped or scratched taillights, I do not want them.

"But Mr. Steve0, how am I suppose to drive around without taillights if I send them to you?"...good question. The solution to this is to send 275 dollars and I will send you a set asap. Once I receive your taillights, I will refund you back 150 smackaroos. 5% of every transaction will go towards Toyota 4runner Forum as a token of my appreciation and willingness to let me start this small business. I will be doing headlights as well. I have some coming in Tuesday, so I will get them done and post pics. If you're interested, just reply here and I'll get a list of folks. Again, this is a feeler. If I get enough interest, I'll make this a normal thing.

Do let us know how it goes on the tail lights. I've had them out twice already and they are permanently sealed . Second time after I did a HID retrofit/black out on my headlights to make sure I wasn't missing something the first time. They sealed them by melting the plastic together along the edges(sonic sealed) instead of using the black sealant that softens when heated.

9hooker and others I believe have had their tails out with the same results.
I guess you could cut the lens off with a high speed or dremel to open them up and then epoxy them back together.

The fronts separate pretty easily once you get them out. You have to take the whole front bumper cover assembly off to get to that lower outside bolt to remove the headlights. Headlight retrofit and black out

Thanks for the heads up Harper. I'll be taking apart my headlights tomorrow and see what I can conjur up. I was unaware of the method Toyota does sealing the lights for the 4runner.
 
Any update on this anyone? Did he ever start this swap out plan? I know there was a thread on here somewhere with a walk-through on how to do it yourself but I cant seem to find it.

false. only the grille, upper center front bumper retainer, and the 3 bolts at the front of each wheel well. the bumper skin can then be pulled forward enough to access the lower mounting bolt for the headlight assembly. can be done in under 20 min with a flat blade screwdriver and a 10 mm socket.
