DIY Valve Cover Gaskets

I have a 93 4x4 4Runner with over 200k miles... I love my truck.

I was in to get an oil change last week and my mechanic recommended that I get my valve cover gaskets replaced because they were leaking. Is this a hard job to do myself? I am an amateur mechanic, but I love to do things myself and I really love saving the money. Should I buy the repair manual and spend a day or two working on it and pocket the extra $300, or is it not worth it?

I can let you know by this weekend.

I have a '94 that i'm going to be changing the valve cover gaskets on this week with a mechanic friend of mine. We have about 6-7 hours set aside for it.

Valve cover gaskets

Well, I did mine in about 3 hours or so,

You should change your oil too if you like saving money!
It's EASY!

Did you swap your water pump out too?

I did the waterpump when I bought my 4 runner 4 months ago as well as the timing belt and the radiator as it was leaky
Why do you ask?

I have a 92 with the V6. What do I have to do to change my valve
cover gaskets? Do I have to take off the intake? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
