Help Needed

So on my way home last night I hit on my high beams and my fuel gauge dropped below the "E" and now my gas light (empty light) flashes. Does anyone have any ideas or clue what this could be. I have a video but computers and I don't get along so I don't know how to upload it into the build thread. Also, when I start the 4Runner the fuel gauge works for 15 seconds and then I get the above symptoms.

Hi Doyle, I lived in GA for 32 years, my wife and I graduated from UGA in 2000...so go Dawgs! Just read through your entire build thread, made me miss Athens/N.Ga for moment. Regarding your fuel gauge issue; What did you wire up last? Did you ground anything on or near the dash? Other than a fuel sending unit, I have no idea what else it could be. Here's a dark pic of mine under the building:

Thank you for your response. I last wired some LED cubes on my front bumper. I am going to unhook those as soon as I get home from work. I am glad that the thread was able to bring back some hopefully fond memories. I am from this great town, graduated from UGA and currently work in Horticulture at UGA. It is a great place. Thank you again for your input. Go Dawgs! Your 4Runner is awesome by the way. I would love to see more pictures of it. Also, do you and your wife ever come back to Athens? If so PM me and we can go from there. Thanks again.

I picked up an awning through a black Friday deal and just finally got around to installing it. It is the 55" CVT awning mounted to a Yakima rack. Right now it is attached with 3 hose clamps per bar, but I will be putting a bolt or two down through the bars later today or tomorrow. Now on to pictures...

Over the holidays I plan to re work the HID retrofit. I am still having trouble getting them aimed properly so I will throw back in my stock headlights and take my time to get the HIDs set up and properly aimed.. Happy Holidays!

I love the green on this trucks probably the most of any other color. I went to college up there in Young Harris and miss the trails I could find up there. There ain't much of nothing down here.

Ya N.GA has some nice trails to ride. I try to get up there as much as possible. Let us know if you are coming up through Athens. There are a few of us around here.

So my goal for 2016 is to be out enjoying nature as much as possible. I was able to get out and do some camping this past weekend along with helping my buddy finish his tiny house. I was able to test out some of the gear that I picked up over the last month a well.

And on a good note, I have finally figured out the sleeping setup for the back of my 4Runner... it consisted of a down comforter and a 72" x 48" x 3" thermarest. I am really happy with this setup and slept like a baby!

Here are a few from this past weekend.. A couple buddies and I went out to the Oconee National Forest and did a little exploring. Found some good spots for some future camping trips as well.

Hey man I just wanted to let you know that I love all the stickers of your truck. Not many people dig it but I sure do! I'm catching up to you!

I installed a dash cam that has a backup camera as well. I got the dash cam portion installed and this weekend I am installing the backup camera too.

Took a "road trip" through North GA over the weekend. No 4Runner photos but I did get a good one of Amicalola Falls...

Nice pics of the waterfalls. I'm not too far from you now in Greenville, SC. It's so much prettier in this area of the country than Alabama, it's amazing what a little bit of mountains can do.

Plans for a semi-constant power supply. Should have it all installed by Friday...
