Do 4runners lose the rear end too easily?

Now the 4runner is the first rwd car ive driven, but i driven many other types of cars but none of them seem lose the rear end as easily. i mean that i lose the rear end really easily on wet roads while cornering, is this normal for the 4runner? do you guys feel the rear end is lost too easily?

My 98 5spd would kick out hard. Makes for bad ass drifts >

My 02 has the traction garbage so I cant even get it to attempt to kick out.

In 2wd it's no worse than most other SUV/pickups that are light in the rear.

ahh, ive driven Awd and Fwd as other cars so i completly forgot about that.

I drive my 98 pretty agressively and so far have never had that issue even in wet conditions. My Tacoma I had that problem all the time but I dont know maybe i just learned not to be on the gas while turning to avoid it.

I agree. I don't have any problems with traction.

My ranger slips out every once in a while. It's has only been when it's wet and wet with leaves is the worst. I just slow it down around turns now.

YEP, happens to me alot. Cornering at a moderate speed makes my rear wheel screech. had a little bit too much fun trying to go around a turn on univeristy grounds, the wheels screech while turning.... and right around the corner was a popo. bad judgement call ... but since it was my first violation, i got off with a warning.

mine does it all the time in the rain and snow, and its real bad with the supercharger. it builds boost quick when it happens and makes it worse.
my last suv was a 91 eddie bauer exploder, sure do miss that thing in the snow, was unstopable. got a rude awakening the first time i had my runner out in the snow.
also when the tire tred is low it does it more often, it even did it to me the other day when i was towing a boat in the rain, even with all the extra weight on the rear.

why don't you just stick some nitto TG's on there then, should handle like its on dry pavement then :shrug:

It's NOT the vehicle. It's the tires!!! Get yourself some decent tires. I used to slip on slightly wet pavement with my stock POS BFG Rugged Trails. I hated those tires. REVO's, KO's, even LTX MS were great.

why don't you just stick some nitto TG's on there then, should handle like its on dry pavement then :shrug:

I had Michilen LTX's on before I put on the NTG's maybe that is why I havnt really had an issue.
