Do CV's have to "break in"?

Not tight, completely frozen at full droop.
The first one I got all the way on and then noticed the seal clamp was slipping. I took it out and went back and got another. So the whole product must be $#it

I guess I have learned a lesson that for something like this, always go with toyota parts. I would have happily spent the extra cash to not have to do the job again (for the third freaking time!!)

I bought a set from Oriellys they have a lifetime warranty and yes they are made in China. They were $69 ea and required no cores. They have been on the vehicle for only 2 months but no issues so far.
I took the factory Toyota ones to a local rebuild shop thats all they do is axles and driveshafts, they have a very good reputation. Other than the broken boots he said they looked great for such high mileage but he rebuilt them anyway($140 for both). They are sitting in the boxes waiting for the Chinese ones to go out but like a said no issues so far.
BTW toyota axles if im not mistaken are like $400 from the dealer...i dont think id go that route...

Drive and turn? That is a solid front axle, minus the steering hardware. I was referring to the fact that birfield joints and cv joints are a pain when doing any serious off-roading. Their reliability and strenght are very questionable once you put any serious power and or tire size on them.
