Do different brand spark plugs, make a difference ?

I just pulled the plugs on this used 1995 4runner / v6 automatic...

motor has 155,000 miles on it , and the plugs looked allright, . they only have the single arm over the electrode.

I see many people use the double arms over the electrode version. Does this really make a noticeable difference in engine running better or better mpg ?

Im gonna replace all 6 plugs, and wanted to know what type to get...I just do normal highway driving...no mudding or using the 4 wheel drive .

these plugs currently in my 4runner are NGK BKR5EYA

thats a different number then the NGK BKR5ES / NGK BKR5EY

what does the differnet number on my plugs mean ?

I don't deal with shops very often but the last shop I did go to (for emission probs on an old Ford v8) recommended that I stay away from Bosch plugs. They said they use autolite only.

The guys that work on our fleet vehicles at work use autolite also.

In a Toyota, I would use whatever NGK the manual calls for. They're what I put in my runner.

just the difference in the tip IE. v tip, traditional spark plug, things like that.

i just put a set of bosch platinum 2 plugs and wires on...... I was hesitant because of what a lot of people have said but so far so good. If anything goes south ill let it be known

The NGK website has some excellent info that you can use to decode the meaning of the part numbers.
