Do I have the correct remote?

Hello all, I recently joined the 4Runner ranks with a ’02 SR5. I've learned a lot already from all I've read here. I've searched to see if I could answer my question myself, but no luck.

I’m wondering if I received the correct remote with the truck. I believe it has the RS3200+ installed, but the remote I have appears to be the one for the factory keyless. I may be simply misunderstanding something.

What I have is the 4-button remote, FCC# HYQ1512Y with no LED.

The reason for my question is that I want to set the remote to unlock all doors with one press, but the RS3200+ instructions don’t “take” – the truck acts like it isn’t “seeing” the remote.

When I use the RS3200+ instructions to reprogram the remote, the system doesn’t “take” it either; but when I use the factory keyless reprogram instructions it does “take”.

While I haven’t pulled panels to make sure the RS3200+ module is installed, the RS3200+ instructions seem to work up until it’s listening for a remote, I can set the passive-arming delay per the RS3200+ instructions, and it has the security thingy in the knockout to the left of the steering wheel which looks like the attached graphic.

Do I have the correct remote? If not, what’s the FCC ID I should look for and/or Toyota part number?

Thanks.

I think the 2002 remotes are the same as the 2003-2005 remotes. If that is the case, then you do have the correct remote. There should be a lock, unlock, and rear window up/down button on the front and a panic button on the back. I am pretty sure that in order to get the remote to unlock all the doors at once, the dealer has to program that for you. That cannot be progammed without the dealer hooking the computer into your truck.

Thanks.

I do appear to have the correct remote for the factory wireless system, which appears to work with the RS3200 system.

But I believe the RS3200 remotes are different, and that's what I'm wondering -- do folks with RS3200's have a different remote and if so what is the FCC ID for it?

Note the difference in the two remotes attached -- images were pulled from a Toyota TSB relating to identifying the remotes for a vehicle.

I'll try to dig into my truck and see if there is really an RS3200+ ECU where it's supposed to be... but since the truck responds to RS3200 programming actions, and also will alarm if I unlock a door through the window, I have a strong suspicion that it does have an RS3200 in it.

Since the RS3200+ is supposed to allow end-user programming as to whether a remote unlocks just driver door or all doors with one press, I'm curious as to whether others can get the factory remote to work this, or if I need the RS3200 remote. If I need the RS3200 remote, then the FCC ID from the back would be helpful in finding the appropriate ones on ebay or similar.
