Do I need radiator support brackets for cbi full skid install?

As the title states I am wondering if I need the radiator support brackets, which were removed when TRD skid was installed so it would fit on my TE with KDSS, for a cbi full skid? I imagine it wouldn't hurt, but I'm not sure if the skid will fit correctly with them on. Thanks

A number of views with no reply yet... I don't have kdss so I'm only speculating here. For my model you certainly don't need those supports based on where my RCI skid seats and bolts on, I would assume you would still need the KDSS specific skid. If anything, on non-kdss the skid can rub slightly on the supports if you don't position it right. Somewhere there is an RCI skid thread where there might be some pics...

You won't need for the skids, just the filler plate.

I'm under the impression that the filler plate is a cosmetic piece that closes the gap between bottom of stock front end and skid, is this what you mean?

I ripped the stock 'filler' piece off when the TRD skid was installed and have been driving with a gap from skid to bumper for over a year now.

Where I'm confused is that I purchased a CBI full skid that was mentioned in the original post, and am not sure why or if an RCI filler plate is compatible. I intend on upgrading the front bumper in the next 6 months, and if the gap is similar as before, I'll probably hold off.

So after viewing filler plate and specs, I believe the front of the TRD skid comes up higher than the cbi or rci, almost creating an over bite with the stock bumper. $65 for a little bit of piece of mind isn't too bad. Thoughts?

Hopefully someone with kdss can respond or link to a pic, after looking around I didn't find a good pic and it's definitely different compared to mine.

But yes i preferred having that gap filled, you never know.

Thanks, I will be calling rci to see if their filler plate is compatible with a cbi skid. I don't see why it wouldn't be. When the time comes I imagine it won't be that hard to get rid of either

i switched out the RCI skids for ARB and the filler plate fits w/o issue.

Just got them back from powder coat, still waiting to hear from RCI. CBI makes some serious armor, and if anybody is looking for a good powder coated in Salt Lake check out armor coatings. $120 for full skid and hardware

So after installing the cbi full skid, the filler piece does not fit. The slots that connect the filler to the beginning of the skid do not line up. I plan on taking it to a shop around town to get new slots cut, i dont imagine it will be expensive to fix. Just an fyi out there for people going cbi skid on a 5th gen trail/trd offroad.

I was however impressed with RCI's customer service. Order was placed Tuesday around 11 am, they fast tracked my filler plate, arrived 2pm Thursday. If I can get the piece cut Friday, I'll still be set for the weekend
