Do i need to replace the complete bumper

Hi I had a Rear bumper guard put on my 2006 Toyota 4 runner .
Unfortunatly I was hit hard from behind and the rear bumber has some dents and scratches from the guard pushing into it .Dosent seem too bad at all .estimate the guy told me I needed a whole new bumper at a cost of 650.00. Becuase they cant be repaired .Can anyone tell me if this is true or can they be repaired without changing the whole bumper .

It depends how bad the damage is and whether you can find someone who is good with plastic.

The plastic part is actually called a "bumper cover", as it's not at all structural. Look behind it for any damage to other parts. That price is about average for a new bumper cover, painted and installed.

if someone else is paying for it (i assume so since it sounds like you were rear ended) then yeah id get a new bumper on someone elses $.

the price sounds about right. thats what it cost on my Audi around $600 but that was unpainted
