Do the brakes ever die wtf?

Seriously I'm in shock, 92k miles and the factory brakes feel like I can go another 15k miles on them before they need to be replaced. At while millage did you guys replace your rotors and pads? price?:infidel:

40,000 On the stockers with plenty of off roading( Pads could have gone to 50 easy but I change that stuff at intervals unless wear dictates sooner)12,000 so far on replacements

I'm at about 60k on the originals. They will be replaced this spring. Impressive considering I run a larger, heavier tire than stock and with additional mods the truck is a few hundred lbs heavier.

Replaced the front pads at ~105,000 miles. I could have gone a little bit more (there was still pad w/ the gap indicator on 3 out of the 4 and the last one had 2-3mm remaining before metal.

Didn't change the rotors and the rears have a good 30k to go the way I drive.

Remember, it really depends as to how you drive. Do a lot of city-stop-and-go versus highway-driving and you'll blow through front pads in as little as 30k.

I'm on Toyota # 6 and of the previous 5 it was rare to replace brakes before 100,000 miles. I even went toe-to-toe with a dealership's service manager when he refused to put new brake pads on my front brakes after 150,000 miles on the factory pads of my first Toyota. He said he refused to do uneccessary work.

I'd have to say that I average about 120,000 miles on front brakes and 90,000 miles on rear brakes. And that includes 3 of those 6 Toyotas being tow vehicles.

I replaced the front pads AND rotors at 125K miles. I upgraded to the EBC slotted rotors and Green Stuff pads. They will last until the vehicle disintegrates.

got it, so from what I understand the rotors will last a long long time.

It will depend on how you drive and where you drive it most.

at 69k miles with 50%+ life left on the pads. I drive mostly highway though.
