Do Thule Wingbar Evo feet mar your roof rails?

I had decided on the Thule Wingbar Evo over the Edge because it looks like a better setup and supports a little more weight. But I don't plan on leaving them on all year, and was worried that even though they're fully rubberized, the clamping mechanism will mar the black painted surface on my roof rails, and leave marks when the rack is off. Is the Edge less likely to do this? Any thoughts?

had mine on for two years straight never took them off. they never loosened, never marred the surface. I did not have painted rails though. I have the chrome

Thanks Leader. The black rail surface looks pretty durable, so hoping they won't. Someone else suggested washing any dirt off that might cause abrasions, so did that.
Are your silver bars anodized and not painted?

anodized. you could also put down some PPF on the bar/around the bar where the rubber contacts the bar.

I have put them on my 2015 Off-Road with the stock anodized bars and my 2020 Venture with the black bars... neither of them were marred after thousands of miles, cross-country trips, and some off-road adventures. Thule makes some good stuff.
