This might be a really dumb question, if so forgive me!-
I will be picking up a new to me 1998 4runner this evening and I noticed something the first time I looked at it as I was leaving that I didn't have time to inquire about.
On the rear passenger wheel, I noticed the inside of the rim and around the drum brake was really wet. When I looked underneath it, the long axle housing looked mostly dry, except where it met the hub, where had a little bit of wetness. It wasn't packed on like grease, just looked wet.
Does anything in this area leak like that or could it just be water? Like I said, the bell housing looked tight and dry, it was only around the hub/inside rim/end of axle housing that looked like this. It IS really wet on the ground here in Colorado still. Just thought I would ask the experts.
Worst case scenario, something is leaking where it meets up with the wheel...is that an involved/expensive undertaking?
