I did with my old one, but the rust was a lost cause. I'm still deciding if my current one is fixable.

People will hate on old vehicles, especially if they have a lot of rust. Screw 'em.

Nope. Matter of fact, I got pulled over on the way back from California on sunday by an officer who just happened to own and wheel a 1st gen and 2nd gen himself... he warned me for not using my turn signal and sent me on my way. I s'pect he just wanted a closer look at the rig.

people like the looks of mine, i redid the body and got about 4" of lift on it with nice deep chrome rims, the only thing EVERY body complains about is the power, so do I. 22r 5-speed But that is going to change in about 2 months, i just baught 2 used third gen camaro's body's are shot but engines are good, thats gonna be pulling my 4runner like it should. God i can;t wait than it will be perfect!!!

nope, just the opposite for me, people are amazed when i tell them my vehicle is almost 11 yrs old when they see the paint and the interior. the mods help the overall look and performance too.
