Do you have an Engine Bloack heater plug?

It is winter so...

Do the sr5's come with engine block heaters in colder climates? Where's the plug located?; I haven't looked too hard yet but didn't see one ...

Looked in the owners manual and cant find any reference to that, nor in the index. There's a couple of posts here, not clear if its standard install in colder areas.

and does your sr5 have insulation attached to the underside of the hood?

Right (passenger?) side; saw something with a yellow harness beside the rad low, outside, bottom, on the other side left (drivers); but didn't want to go pulling at wires yet ... pic?

Yellow wire harness = Airbag sensor wires. Might not want to mess with those.....

The block heater plug-connector is near the fog light (on the driver's side). You will need the Toyota proprietary cord to plug into the connector on the truck. And then, plug your regular extension cord into the Toyota cord.

The Toyota Canada premium plug-in block heater is a dealer installed option (and does not come as standard equipment). TC website shows the dealer installed price for this accessory on new 4Runners is $457.50 CAN

....but then again air bags won't go off in the engine compartment

puddle of water in the target parking lot? add-30 to the water and that's why you need a block heater; ie Montana in Feb; not needed on the coast.

The block heater core is for -30; 3 ft snow drift and blizzard so you can get going in the morning and not freeze for 1/2 an hour

Thanks for that info, I was curious if I should get one in my climate (Kansas City). Guess it is not necessary though, probably easier (maybe) to just make space in the garage for the 4R...

Id be more concerned about a tornado damaging your 4R or garage.

You definitely don't need one in Kansas, or anywhere south of Minnesota, really.
