Do you like your Limited 20" Geolandars?

Hi-

I have searched and only found a few comments on the 20" Limited Geolandars. Now that they have been out long enough to go through all seasons, I am wondering what people think of these tires.

As a Limited owner, the tire choices for the stock rims are truly 'limited'. However, I really do like the look of the 20" rims and I am wondering if the Geo's would be a little better all around the BS Dueller HTs. The tread on the Geo looks a little more agressive than the BS.

Geolanders Have Potential Tracking Issues

My 2011 Limted came with the Geolanders. If you search the other treads, you will see that some owners are having issues with Limiteds with these tires. Mine is all over the road when highway grooves are in parallel with the highway lane and approximately an inch apart. My dealer suspects it to be a tire problem, but has not been able to fix yet. Many new concrete roads have this new groove design on the surface, which the 2011 Limited in my case can not handle. You have to go to appromiately 40mph on a 70mph speed limited highway to have reasonable control. I am looking for others with the 20" geolander to try their on this type of concrete to determine if this problem is more widespread.

Hi Fraggy-

What pressure are you running your tires at and how new are they? The reason I ask is that tramlining is often associated with a stiffer sidewall (often with low-profile and new tires that haven't 'softened' up). I wonder if you air down a little or if after you get some miles on them (if they are new) it will improve.

I wonder if you may have gotten a bad tire or two (not all tires are the same - even among the same make and model their consitency can vary) - could you try another Limited from your dealer?

My limited has 1300 miles on it. The tire pressue is 31 pounds. The road surface is approximately 40 miles away from any Toyota dealer, so test driving another limited on that road type is really not feasible.
