Do you need steering extension for 1" BL?

I've searched and searched and haven't found a solid answer. Have the 3/2 Icon lift on the way but also have some 18X9 Addicts with 295/65/18 Duratracs. The addicts already have a -12 offset so they're gonna be pushed out a bit.

W/ that said I was wanting to add a little bit of extra lift to more easily squeeze the tires.

So I figured I would go with a 1" body lift from 4Crawler. W/ that said I've google'd everything under the sun and can't determine if 4th gen's truly need the steering extension for a 1" BL.

Any guidance/advice on this issue would be appreciated.

No, you do not need the steering spacer until you hit the 1.5" size. I bought one with my 1.25" lift and ended up not using it after I looked at the steering situation. I slipped a couple washers in as spacers, MUCH easier than trying to shoehorn that spacer in and just as effective.
