It just hit me, with all the mods that people do and the work they put into the 4runner how many actually own it? How many people have the title to their 4runner, making it yours...:snacker:

So where do you fall?

Always wondered this, going to be interesting seeing where it goes. I'm was fortunate enough to be able to have cash in hand when I found a good deal on my 4runner back in August 2009.

I put 6k down when I bought it in March of '11 and owe 14k. I plan to pay it off long before the 4 year loan reaches an end, but in the mean time, a Shrockworks Bumper, 3" lift, and sliders will keep me going until then!

After all I bought the 4Runner to have fun in, why am I going to wait 4 years to have the truck I want when I can get half of it already and then the rest in a year or two!

At 4% interest for 60 months, I put no money down and financed it. I thought that was pretty good on a used vehicle.... I like money in the bank for a rainy day rather than money tied up in a vehicle. But that is just my opinion and I know other opinions vary. I did verify with my insurance that off road damage is covered since I wheel pretty hard!!!

I did something similar, no money down and had it financed through our credit union for 4.49%. I wish I had $17.5k to buy it with cash but I'm the bread winner in the house and have to support the fam. Plus, saving our cash for a down payment on a house!

Like someone else already said, I couldn't wait to start my mods. My monthly payment is only $330 and that's my only debt so I have some play $$$ for the runner.

All mine!

Bought my 2003 SE new with a loan and all paid off now. At 50000 miles everything is just the way it came out of the factory. Original tires, battery etc. I did add nav -E7008- and 115V outlet with this forums help, hope to keep her forever.

Sold our Toyota Matrix, which was previously wrecked, and used the money to put down on a 04 Sport 4wd. Paid the remaining off within 6 mos. Free and clear!!! Now I can start some mods if I want!!!

My philosophy is that I can lose my job and still have a car to get to interviews and the next job.

I bought mine new in April of 2004 and paid it off in 2008. No minivan for this Mom....I can carry my 2 boys and 2 dogs just fine in my 4Runner.

2004 SR5 4WD V8

Bought mine straight up in february 09, $1850 cash :D it'll be a while before you ever find me buying a car that has a monthly payment, (im assuming the future wife will "have" to have some expensive ass car)

Went to the dealer with my check book and bought my '06 brand new on Dec 2006. Owned and loved every minute for the last 4 1/2 years

Bought my 2007 in November 2009 and paid it off June 2011.

It's a nice feeling to not make a monthly payment and know that the vehicle has a ton of life left. It'll be even nicer to pay myself that same amount every month.

I have to admit, I am surprised by the results, over 70% of us own our car. In this economy I was expecting different results, but since we are all 4runner owners I should have figured most everyone else owned theres!!

I paid mine off in 10 months after I bought it, I had a low APR, but screw that! I could buy a supercharger for the cost of financing it for 4 years!!!:thumb3:
