I am just curious ... Am I the only Oil Geek in the house? I have spend hours reading this site and the forums. ALot of experts available for oil related questions. Terry Dyson of Dyson Analysis to name one.
Also reps from AUTO-RX and LUBE CONTROL frequent the site as well.

I have been reading lately about the GC, (German Castrol) A rare oil found in auto parts stores that is green in color and suppposed to be a New formulation of engine oil.

Anyways my Screen Name is Boaz on BITOG, (Bob is the oil guy).

I was just wondering if I am the oil one with oil obsession!?

I found myself looking in auto parts stores last night. I would be out searching today but my daughter woke up with a fever...

Got to admit that I looked about 1 year ago, asked the clerk if he had seen any and he looked at me like I was from Mars. These Toyota engines the 4.7 V8 for sure are so easy on oil that I'm just using Castrol GTX and the OEM filter and changing every 4K miles. The oil doesn't even get dirty. If I towed and off roaded I would go to Mobil 1.

Found that site a couple of years ago and it started my obsession with oil and filters. I even tried GC in my 4 Runner but my mileage went down and the engine didn't seem as willing to rev like it had with Havoline.

I just picked up 5 quarts fo GC today at AZ.

I bought it for my wifes HEEP though.... I plan on running AMSOIL in 4R.

But it really is cool, and green!

Half the fun of finding GC is the hunt for it.

If it wasnt so rare, I dont think it would be as popular. But the UOA and VOA have impressive wear numbers and the oil doenst shear as much as M1.
Castrol GTX is great Dino oil IMHO. That is what I run in the wifeys jeep. GTX also shows great resulst in the UOA. If I were a dino guy that is what I would run in the 4 Runner.
