I wonder how he could do it. It's not going to be that easy burning a Durango to the ground. (Note: This is a previous generation Durango, not the bigger version that is currently out).

you could if you had a magnesium block. the old vw vans had one, and i saw one catch on fire. FD couldnt do nothing for the owner, years later the road still had a black spot from that incident, till they repaved it.

He's just going to end up with a charred hulk that looks like a Durango. Unless he can add some fuel that will burn hot enough to melt steel and aluminum and cast iron!

I don't see why he is complaining - 108K miles seems like a reasonable length of time for an engine to survive.

American Vehicles

I almost agree that an engine in a North American car is not as good as the Asian ones, however I happen to know of several vehicles that friends drive that have well over 200,000 miles, my wife`s car included. My thought is this; An American engine that is built on tuesday to thursday will be a good motor, monday and friday engines will suck and the overtime weekend ones will be absolute junk. Asian engines will always be good. North american cars have inconsistant quality where the asian ones are always the same quality. I`ve seen the 5.2L engine in Dodge`s go well over 600,000 miles. He must have got one that was built on the weekend.
