Does anyone have any experience with a power wagon? I used to have a 2013 1500 with the 5.7 and liked it. I'm looking at purchasing a 2008 Power wagon and wondering if anyone has had a 2500 with the 5.7 and how they liked it? I would really like to have a pickup again, and I need to be able to tow/haul a decent amount. The truck I'm looking at is a few hours away, and would mean selling the 4runner for sure. Which is a bummer, but this might fit my needs a lot better.

The 5.7s aren't bad. I see them come into work with 200,000+ miles without any major repairs for the most part. I know the earlier ones had issues with the valve springs but I would definitely look for one with a 5.9 if possible although hard to come by. But definitely stay away from the 6.7 or the 4.7 if you look into 1500's.

The 5.7l is a good motor is it the hemi or Magnum? The transmission is what I would worry about especially it your pulling with it you might want to add another transcooler. If you want something really reliable and good for pulling you need a cummins with a Allison.

It was a blast to beat around and took the abuse well. Is this going to be a towing rig or just an offroad toy with balls?

If you can find a cummins with an Allison transmission then you'll put every other truck out of business. You can swap it but it won't come stock.
