Does anyone else get their truck underestimated?

In the short time (3 months) since I've owned my truck (which to date is stock), i have had a couple people underestimate it's ability, both on the trails and in the street. The first time was about a month and a half ago, I went 4-wheeling with a Jeep Cherokee with a 2-inch lift and a stock Wrangler. I told them I was coming and they told me to be sure to bring a tow strap, and that i might as well have it hooked up. At the end of the day, i got through the rough trails as well as they did (better than the wrangler imo). and just today, a buddy in a KIA Forte was sure he would beat me in a race. a quick run at a traffic light took care of that, i think i could have beaten him without tires :lmao: . Can anyone else relate? Just curious. I dont mind, and will always enjoy showing them who's boss :driving:

These are impressive vehicles! I've been shocked several times, while off-roading, by how easily I'm able to make it through some areas... rutted, scree-covered, steep hills that leave other vehicles (with open diffs) struggling to find grip. You should just say, "Don't worry... I always carry a tow strap!" with a smirk and leave it at that! :thumb3:
 
Most Jeep guys think nothign can keep up with their Jeeps. I showed up a couple modded Wranglers on a trail and pulled over an obstacle with alot less drama than the others that went before me with just my bigger tires and having the locker helped but I'm not on the trails for competition,just fun and comraderie.
 
Around here jeeps and toyotas are the best wheelers available. I can see a conflict between the two but the guy in the kia needs to do some research.
 
I've said it before and I'll say it again. The V8 4R is a sleeper. Come to a stop light against some brah driving an Si and show him what's up. Even on the highway I've smoked many an unsuspecting BMW, Mercedes, Audi car and driver.

Many people have gotten in my car and commented how it's a "beast". Between the ride of the KO's, and the buttery-smooth effortless power that the V8 delivers it offers a ride unmatched by most vehicles in it's class:.

Take a drive in the Cruiser and it actually feels like you're driving a tank. Literally indestructible. More-so than the 4R.

I wheel with some friends with heavily modded 3rd gens, and they were always blown away with the capabilities of my 4th gen when it was a stocker.
And then when pulling a trailer load of track bikes, I've amazed friends by cruising up steep hills like the trailer wasn't even back there. Yeah, these are pretty killer trucks.
 
Hahahaha KIA Forte...I wouldnt be suprised if you beat him in reverse hahaha. My V8 suprised my buddy, the first time I took him for a ride in it, we were at a light and he wasn't really paying attention. The light turn green and I hammered it, his head hit that headrest so fast I though I gave him whiplash lol. I also had some punk traffic basket weaver try and pass me on the inside in his daddy's mercedes, long story short he didn't passed me :D

HAHA, did the same thing to my friends :D. The V8 is sweet! Was much quicker with stock wheels, but even with the 33's it gets down. I've raced a Porsche Cayenne turbo previously when I was stock with just the K&N, and believe it or not, they couldn't take me. Probably a girl driving :banana:

yeah...haha i was actually pretty insulted when he said he legitimately thought he would beat me. and yes, i have thrown unsuspecting friends back into the seat, funny stuff.
 
I have heard many comments like "You take that thing off road?" "You can do that in your 4runner?" and "Wow, this thing rides so nicely"

People don't expect it to be so great because so many mid-sized SUV's aren't impressive at all. Love the T4R.

Oh yeah, I've been there. A delivery guy saw my truck in the driveway and said it was nice. my dad explained how its mine and I plan on lifting it and putting on bigger tires. the guy was like, "oh so he wants the off-road look?" my dad said "no he wants to go off-roading" the guy look stunned. apparently it is too pretty :bash: With that being said, that's why I love it. Good looking and capable. Jeeps can't say that...

love the v8 we have...but there's no way your beating a turbo cayenne...sorry ;)
 
These things are mad fast for what they are. Toyota actually over powered these things if thats safe to say! lol but yes Offroad they are monsters, and on the streets they are bigger monsters. Check out my races on YouTube. ecjhfootballguy's Channel - YouTube
They speak for themselves. Beaten Hemi's, Silverados, Civics, Eclipse, etc. I lost to a Supercharged Harley Davidson F-150. But it was closer than I would have thought. After all the F150 was built for speed since they aspirated it with a s/c.

Or they didn't know that they were "racing"... take it to the track.

The funny thing about speeding is you eventually have to slow down!! Either under your control or by an innocent car!! Why do you go 100+ in a 4500lb SUV when you have an S5 and a WRX? Doesn't make sense to me at all! :shrug:
