Does anyone else get their truck underestimated?

Audi's are pretty slow too in the grand scheme of things, lots of other cheaper cars stomp all over them in a straight line. theyre pretty quick around corners though.

However, I will say a large percentage of 4Runner owners also own Audi or BMW's or some other type of "fast" or "luxurious" car. I am very impressed with that, most forums the owners are so biased they will only buy that one type of vehicle. GM truck forums are the absolute worse! dumb rednecks that drive me crazy that think their antiquated throttle body injected small blocks are fast or that anything made post 1995 is rubbish. I could rant for days on people like that...

Never driven a Audi so I wouldn't know. Honestly don't want to. Its just a fancy Volkswagen IMO. Some say Lexus is a fancy Toyota... But I'd rather have a GS350 than a BMW or BENZ.

Don't get me started on rednecks that think anything without a Chevy, Ford or Chrysler badge is crap... Tho Chrysler is now technically a branch of Fiat.

some model lines are technically a fancy upscale VW, but that can be said about any brand family since they share many parts. there are parts like the shifter and the bezel around it that are used in Bentley's are also used on cheaper VAG cars like Audi.

the A4/S4 until recently has been based on the VW "B" chassis which is shared with the Passat. but an A4/S4 with a bi-turbo v6 or 4.2 FSI v8 and Quattro AWD or sport tuned suspension and super plush leather seats and soft touch interior...is not a Passat when you think about it.

yes 4Runner are very impressive vehicles, just not very fast IMO. which it shouldnt be, because its a body on frame truck. you ever heard that old saying "its fun to drive a slow car fast?" i think that is the 4Runner, its a lot of fun to drive "fast" but its not fast.
 
no matter what that v8 hauls a** for a SUV of this size and the v6 more than holds it own just the other my buddy and i were in his 2011 GTI stock except catback (for now) and these teenager pulled up in a Benz GL and some kid in the car yells out "GUN IT" and we didn't realize till after they took off but they took off and we more then quickly caught up and theirs no doubt that a v6 4runner would have stomped all over that glorified soccer mom thing

P.S just to be fair we are 16 also but i dont have my own runner its my dads i just do stuff to it

I'm not by any means a VW guy but I know how the my are cutting corners like Toyota is. All least Toyota is recovering.

I hit the limiter on mine (I think its 117 MPH but I'm not sure.. but I'm not going anywhere because I just went out to my truck tk get something and the keyless entry doesn't work because the battery is so dead.

Every time I've gone off road with people I've gotten way underestimated. I drive an 09 Sport Ed. About a month ago I went through some mud with an old Blazer and a newer Tacoma. Both of the dudes were convinced that the 4Runner was a soccer mom car. Needless to say I showed them otherwise.

Voyager is fast (35,000 mph).

My dog is fast.

My 4Runner is fast.

It's not a race car obviously (it's a Toyota SUV), but if it were, there would always be somebody faster.

That dude was going over those jumps pretty fast! Faster than I would.

Now, where are the fast women? :)

Yah really...

It's not that the 4runner won because it's better than the Samurai (or whatever it is). Its that the guy in the Samurai cares about his truck. Were the guy in the 4runner is either driving a rental or borrowed it from daddy because he doesn't give a ****. He's lucky he didn't flip it, but he still definitely did damage.

Glad to see the 4runner win but hate to see it get destroyed.

Seeing those bumpers all destroyed made me die a little inside lol. Nice truck but he f*cking killed it
