Does anyone ever get rubberized undercoating?

Does anyone ever get that ruberized undercoating that the dealer sells? Just curious if so does any1 have a pic of what it looks like underneath? I opted for it in canada and its $499 option. I just dont want them to spray the skidplate and bilstein shocks etc on the TRD PRO. or get overspray on other things that shouldnt get sprayed etc..

Have you had it performed yet? I think it’s fine but may not last.
Most on here seem to self perform with Fluid Film each year.

I've seen it and I don't know where the product hails from otherwise but it certainly is dyed differently depending upon where it is applied ( as in geographic areas from what I've seen ). It's very waxy for sure, if thats a word to describe it, it isn't asphalt based which I wouldn't recommend for the reasons you note. The fluid film types easily wipe off areas where you don't want it on your shocks or skids, no worries (and they add black dye to that too).

I recall Ziebart had a product similar to that when they were in business. I suppose it works as well as the other two popular applicators in Canada (Krown & RustCheck), in fact your dealer may even be farming the applications out to one of these outlets since they are equipped to apply it. They wouldn't come into the dealers garage and do it.

Power Spray Undercarriage

I'm not in a snow zone where they add road salts. It's mostly dusty here in So Cal. After off-roading I usually power spray the underside thoroughly just to get the truck clean again.
For $500 you could buy a power sprayer and wash your undercarriage weekly in winter. The power sprayer has other uses too.

Not sure if it's the same product but the local Oregan's dealerships are calling it Permashine. They had a Corolla flipped on its side in the showroom showing 1 half of the under body coated and 1 half uncoated. I didn't "pay" for it but I made the dealer throw it in the deal for "free" as we were in gridlock on the selling price of my 4Runner. They touch it up every year for $30. Nova Scotia uses a lot of Salt and Brine so it's probably needed around here. I'm happy with how my undercarriage looks but, keep in mind that it's coated so who really knows.

I suspect you are a long term Cali resident, your suggestion of a power washer to spray off the underside of a 4R in -10˚ F is not at all fun. As a matter of fact doing it sucks at best.
