Does anyone make a rear swingout tire carrier that fits over the factory bumper?

Hey guys. I need to get the space back in the cargo area that my full size spare is taking up. I want a rear swingout tire carrier that replaces or attaches to the trailer hitch assembly or its mounting points on the frame. I do not wish to replace my factory bumper unless there are no other options. Does anyone make this or am i gonna have to build it myself?

I believe CBI or Shrockworks has a hitch mounted spare tire carrier.

'ol Roberto would be correct. CBI makes a fold down hitch mounted carrier.

Honestly... for that money.... you could get a good fabricator to build one off the towing package, AND retain your tow point. Not to mention... you can make it sit a lot closer to the rear hatch!

I'm no fabricator... but I do have a vivid imagination... and made my own (with the help of some friends and family.. )

Fightman80, i REALLY appreciate the pics and if i go the fab route i hope you dont mind me drawing inspiration from your design. Does it swivel or swing or is it truly a fixed unit? How would you open the hatch?

I just figured i would update this thread for posterities sake and because i finally did it! I ended up having a good friend of mine help me build the swing out tire carrier, paid a pretty penny for trial and error but wow what a learning experience, i think we built an excellent finished product! The thing is that i now wish to put the spare in another location LOL, so i am putting this tire rack carrier up in the "For Sale" section for anyone who is interested. It is one of a kind and wraps around the factory bumper snugly but must be used with a 1.5" BL.

Anyone know of a DIY swing out (like wilco or Rigd style) build?

I want to make something that utilizes the factory hatch to make a DIY swing out. I've seen a lot of swing down units but I want to be able to use a camp table with the thing. The price point on the commercial units is just a little too high.
