Does anyone off road with spacer lifts ?

Just wondering , I was just reading some old threads in a search for something else , and it this person said "none" for the off roading with spacers.

Wouldn't trail rides be ok , long as you not rock crawling , then I would say no , but shouldn't average trail flexing be ok. or would it actually be worse than stock ? (or a 1" level kit )

Why would spacer lift be bad for rockcrawling?

I just assumed it since I read in the post about not off roading with spacers at all and rock crawling usually need much more flex (correct ??).

Falls- I do a little Trail-Riding with my 2.5 Daystar lift and it handles great, perfect amount of clearance.....Usually out in the desert.....

Falls, are you under the impression that a stock 4runner would handle trails better than a spacer lift like the cornfed?

Spacers work offroad.
They are the cheapest route to a larger tire, which we all now = more capability.
their long term (yeeaars) stamina is questionable.....?
I have a friend with an f150 who first got spacers and only had them for like a month before upgrading.... a damn fool with an f150 could even see, although it took a month.
If someone is worried enough about OFFROADing to question the capability a/o ride of spacers then I think its a great time to consider Old Man Emu.

No I'm not doubting and don't know like I said I read it in another post from a while ago while searching for something else.

I thought the spacers limited flex more than a stock 4R.

OME would be great and love it because I'm always trying to sneek back into off road spots I don't belong. If my truck were not a high milage daily driver , I would go with that in a heartbeat . I have to find a blend between form and function ....lol.

I was only asking because thats what I read here.

Actually, you can retain the stock ride quality or even improve it with the OME kits. Check out trdparts4u.com or rocky-road.com for the prices. Not too bad at all.

Previous to my current suspension set-up I ran the Cornfed 3/2 lift and used it off-road several times. Initially the performance was very similiar to stock. It was a little more harsh in the rear and I noticed less control, ie. the rear would wander more at speed. The firmness definitely increased over time. Ny new SAW/OME set-up is much more plush, yet still firm. Example: Drive off a curb with an OME equipped T4R vs. one with a spacer lift and the OME equipped runner will be much smoother. In my experience the spacers caused the rear to initially lose contact with the ground and then "push" the rear tires down resulting in a jarring impact. WIth my new set-up I feel nothing in the same example. This is amplified off-road.

I enjoyed my Cornfed lift and it served it's purpose, but I would tell anyone who plans to use their 4Runner off-road to save up for the OME lift.
