I run a set of converted SCS wheels on my FJ. I'd HIGHLY recommend contact OMF and seeing what they can do for you. They're awesome wheels!
Same. They definitely increase the weight with the conversion but the SCS wheels are fairly light to begin with. I just put a new set of Toyos on and the worst wheel was 2oz. to balance . Having the security to air down ultra low and have confidence even at 15-20 psi when doing higher speed runs is great... I'm not worried when I come around a corner too hot, that the outer best will blow. Negatives of the setup are that its pretty time consumer to mount the tire when following the proper torque sequence. Wouldn't want to be swapping tires out twice a year. Second negative is the weight and no, they are not DOT certified. I believe many might be "DOT Approved" but AFAIK the Hutchinson's are the only DOT Certified (DOT stamp on the wheel).
