Does anyone run 255|85R16 with ~1" wheel spacers?

every wheel has different back spacing and width and offset. whats important is the offset. supposedly stock 4runner wheels have 4.625 backspacing and are 7" wide. that gives an offset of 1.125". the 80 series wheels 8" wide and 4.5" bs are 0.5" offset.
for a 255 you wont need wheel spacers to clear but you should check with them on and off and see how they work. the only way to actually check for rubbing is by taking your coilovers out and jacking up the suspension to see where the tire will hit. its pretty easy to hammer the pinch weld over and not much more should be needed to clear them. however make sure to double check.

I'm currently using the OEM split 3-spokes. I'm hoping to avoid getting new wheels, unless I find some cheap 5-spoke limited wheels.

I have an '01 with a SS 7.2 kit on it and 255/85R16's. I have been thinking about adding .5"-1" spacers purely for looks. I've only had 1 instance of minor rubbing while offroading, and that was in the rear.
I have done some checks on whether I think the spacers would cause rubbing, and from what I can tell, with the lift, it wouldn't be an issue.

Adjustable panhard yes, measured the stock one when installing the new SS one and the recommended length for the amount of lift I was getting (3") is 37 1/4", while the stock one is 37".... Dunno how much difference 1/4" makes, but I'm trusting Steve on this one
