Does the 4th Gen look better with a Spoiler?

I just got a spoiler put on my 07 T4R 2 days ago. And it is just perfect now. I think the spoiler completes the look and makes it more rugged and sporty looking. They should all have a spoiler!!!

Yeah the 3rd & 4th Gen.'s both look plain w/out the spoiler, they look kind of like a box w/out the spoiler. So definitely a :bigok: for the spoiler.

wow, i thought i was in in majority... but after reading all these posts and seeing poll results... i guess i am in the minority...

i like the 4th gen with out the spoiler... HOWEVER on the 3rd gen the 4runner looks "naked" with out one...

It just looks so wrong without a spoiler on a 4th Gen. Having it just makes the car complete

I can take or leave it. Having said that, I ordered mine without, because like the hood scoop on the sport version, what purpose does it serve other than ornamentation? Gotta serve a purpose in my book.

The purpose of it is purely for looks, so get it! I have a sport edition and the hood scoop is the best feature! That and the Xreas haha

I wouldn't say it's purely for looks. It does tend to keep the back window a bit cleaner, and it has a brake light on it too.

Very true although without the spoiler there is also a brake light so its just for keeping the back window cleaner. Anyway it looks 10x better with it

I like the 4th gen 4Runner with the spoiler both for looks and the functionality. I never would have thought it would help keep the rear window clean, but it really does. My '06 didn't have the spoiler and the rear window used to get very dirty.

Thank you pickerdd. That lays all the doubters about the spoilers usefulness to rest coming from someone who's had both 4Runners with and without a spoiler.

I personally knew it kept the window cleaner since mine is cleaner than other 4th gens without it coming back from the Sierras. And I still haven't used my rear wiper yet.

Hell no- the spoiler ruins the look of the back and profile. I searched forever to find a 4runner 4x4 without it.

IMO I THINK THAT THOSE ARE ONLY RESERVED FOR CARS NOT SUV'S... THE 4TH GEN SPOILER IS JUST TOO BULKY

Look, frankly, its long been known that the spoiler on the 4th Gen has bringing sexy back since its inception in 03.

But, I saw a 4th gen the other day at costco w/o the spoiler...and it looked damn good. It was also dirty and muddy, so that ight have something to do with it. But that runner looked naked... and well, as a college male, certain things naked, are flat out hott. But I'll still take my modest, 'dressed' Runner out on the town.

I just purchased a black '05 T4R limited but it doesn't have a spoiler. If i wanted to get a factory spoiler how would i go about getting one?

I got mine from SpoilerFactory in Florida few years ago. Can seem to find their website. But there seem to be few other places you can get one from. Check out the following:

I like the profile of these aftermarket OEM spoilers. Not bulky like those post 2004-spoilers, which I understand so many don't care for having on their T4R, me included.

I suggest getting a T4R w/o the post 2004-spoiler, and then get and install one of these aftermarket OEM spoiler for better look and have the function of the rear spoiler to keep tailgate clean.

If you don't have one on there and like the look maybe you should go for an aftermarket one like this:
