Does the 4th Gen look better with a Spoiler?

I dont like the spoiler. I dont realy like the idea of a spoiler on a truck. Now if you could just bolt a big whale tail on top of the car now we are talking. Maybe even two. I mean i have seen honda civics with more than that.

It looks nice but i think its better without it. I guess thats why they call it an option. I like the wheels man, did you paint the stock ones. Im lookin to paint mine because the paint is coming off from corrosion and salt.

yea dog it's the limited 18s... i powder coated it so it's perfectly able to handle all that mother nature can throw at it.

I like the big chunky spoiler. Mine came without a spoiler and I have not been able to find the newer factory style spoiler without ordering it as a body part to the tune of $750. All the after-market ones are flat on top. Many of these companies have the wrong picture on their websites, incorrectly showing the current OEM Style when that isn't what the are selling. I've returned 2 of them now for not being the same style. Not to mention that have been pieces of crap! I guess I just want after-market stuff to look and fit like OEM.

I think it looks better with the spoiler. I'm just so used to seeing the 4th gen with them that whenever i see one without the spoiler it just seems like it is missing something. Just my personal opinion.

Always have to have the spoiler...they look too rounded without it. It's like getting a 3rd gen without the rear air deflector IMHO.

Why spoil the looks of a rugged SUV.

Im with you on that one, what is the point of a spoiler on an suv anyway. I saw a dodge ram yesterday with a spoiler that came up like three feet off of the truck bed. Its a 4 runner not a honda civic.

-cuz the 4runner spoiler maybe .2 feet high

-the 4runner is as common as your ford focus

again, it looks whack without it.

I voted "Yes" I think that it does look better!

However, for a trip that I recently did a buddy of mine lent me his roof box and I lost the ability to open the rear hatch! when you are camping out of the rear of your T4R this becomes a big issue...

Do I wish that I had gone with-out the rear spoiler? No!

However just something to keep in mind. That if you are looking at putting things on the roof you are going to be greatly limited with your rear door.

I voted "yes", but I am really 50/50 on whether it "looks better" with one or not. No preference really. BUT, I have to say since I have one, and have had the displeasure of driving around the past few days in the rain...that the thing really works. It keeps a nice downdraft on the rear glass and keeps it basically blown off as to road spray.

I have a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer that doesn't have a fin at the back, and any little amount of road spray means running the rear wiper is a must. I turned mine on today on the 4Runner just to make sure it worked. (I've only had my 4Runner for 2 days). The spoiler kept the water pushed off the rear glass very well and I never needed to run the wiper to have a clear rear view.

So whether it looks better or not, I dunno. It's your call. But they actually do serve a purpose in foul weather.

I think it looks awesome with the spoiler and the sport edition hood scoop (even though it does nothing but look good).

Having bought my first T4R, a 2008 Sport, last weekend.......I specifically wanted one with NO spoiler and NO moonroof.

I feel that the bulbous spoiler ruins the vehicle's clean lines, and that a moonroof, sooner or later.......leaks.

Just my $0.02....

Or moonroof gets stuck open. What I've notice here in town are tons of Runners with no spoiler or roof rails. It gives it a sleek look.
If I had extra cash I'd get an additional Runner with no spoiler or rails.

I like 4runner with spoiler on it but i prefer the spoiler they had on 2003 to 2005 model. Looks flat and simple.

Probably been noted in previous posts, but I think the spoiler actually works. Drove a few hundred miles in salt country over the weekend. Other SUV's had tons of grime on the back. Mine, with the spoiler, was clean in comparison. I have never used the rear wiper and cant imagine I ever will. And it does look ok.

I don't think the 4runner looks like a 4runner unless it has one. It makes the vehicle. imo
