Does the stock radio have an Aux Out?

I was wondering if the stock CD/Radio/Cassette player unit in my '04 SR5 have a easy hack or mod to install an Aux Out cable? I didn't want to go to the trouble of pulling the radio just to look. I was hoping that someone in the collected wisdom of this list would know.

I still have my 6 disc changer in my truck and install the GTA Car Kit so I can connect via blue tooth. It works great!

You can do the GTA kit or buy a new double din unit. I’m getting a new Kenwood, so went the cheaper way and bought an FM transmitter for now.

I have the USA Spec Bluetooth audio kit hooked up to my stock head unit (same thing as the GTA kit). Works for me!

If it has an aux input, it will be inside the center console. Very bottom of the front "wall"

I would say yes, but it’s complicated. My first 4th gen I installed a double din scion radio. This was before Bluetooth was a thing. I didn’t have an aux in my 4runner, but wanted to add it so I pulled an aux connector from a wrecked scion and traced the wires all the way to the back of the radio. It traced all the way back to a basic white connector. There were some additional wires there that traced back towards the speedo, I ended up snipping those. My 4runner had that connector, but not the aux wires, so I just plugged in the one from the scion and the aux worked.

I later found out those extra wires that I snipped were steering wheel control wires. I added steering wheel controls at a later date, and I ended up having to depin the OEM connector wires and add them into the scion aux connector.

So that’s all probably pretty confusing, and it’s been probably 8yrs, but if it’s got an aux output, it’s going to be in the form of a basic 10pin (or something) white connector. And on my 04 it was the connector with the steering wheel controls. So if your 4runner doesn’t already have an aux, I would seriously look at what these other guys have done, or add a scion radio with Bluetooth capability or probably even better, an aftermarket radio.

No it does not have an AUX input. I used a ghetto cassette adapter for a long time, but it sounded like crap. Finally replaced with a new head unit.

Seems like everyone is describing an AUX "input" rather than an output. Are you trying to send signal to an amplifier or other device?

For an input, yes.....if you've got the JBL system there should be a jack inside the center console. If not, I like the Crux bluetooth adapter I added to my Honda and Toyota Sienna. The sound level is just a little muted (gotta turn the volume up a bit compared to the radio) but overall the clarity is great.

This is what I have, I don't know if that's stock but I have a 2007 SR5 and I've done no modifications to the audio system (yet.)

This may be the case in the 2005-2009 4th gen, but there is not an input aux in the center console of the 2002-2004 4th gen.
