Does the TRD CAI add HP on the 4.0?

I've been doing some research and I'm about to pull the trigger on a TRD intake for my 06 4Runner. Seems to be conflicting info though. Some say it adds power and MPG others are saying it only adds a nice sound.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks!

It's at least adding a few ponies but even if it was adding 10whp or so it's not something you'd notice but the throttle response might be a bit quicker. MPGs are generally negligible with an intake.

The most any intake is going to give you is improved throttle response and maybe a mile or two per gallon. The power gains at the wheels will be negligible in most cases.

Can you feel it? Probably not.

Will you get better MPG. Probably not.

You can hear it for sure. You can here the VVTi change at various RPMs when your foot is in it.

Here is a link that states the following about the TRD 4.0L kit for the Tacoma.

Peak to Peak Power Gain HP +11HP @ 4,850rpm; Torque +19.0 ft-lbs @ 3,600rpm - - - Largest Power Gain HP +15HP @ 3,150 rpm; Torque +25 ft-lbs @ 3,150 rpm As tested on 06MY Tacoma. Individual performance improvements may vary.

Here is another link to the TRD Site.

It states the same thing.

I don't know how some of you can say that you don't feel a difference at all with a CAI. I just did my TRD CAI this week and when I took it out for a test spin, I could definitely feel it pull more.

Anyways, it looks good, sounds great, and yes I do know that this thing gave me some extra kick.
