That's a heck of deal for somebody. Guy seems legit--has good ebay feedback. I ran a carfax on it and it comes back without any problems. The guy who is selling it must be the 2nd owner so basically a 1 owner car. I would jump on this if I was in the market!

By the way I have an unlimited carfax account right now if anybody needs me to run one.
 
hahhahah why would the seller sell it for 12k when he can easy sell it to a dealer for more them that? THAT CAR IS WORTH AROUND 20K TO 25K!! sound like a scam to me! IF IT LOOK TO GOOD TO BE TRUE IT IS!:arrow:
 
Be ware! It might be a lease or bank owned vehicles. He/She might not have title on hand to sell the car legally. I saw this kind of scan numeris times.
 
Yeah I saw it too. What seemed fishy to me was the third row seat that the seller claims it has.
 
The seller is also listed as a member since Jan 2004 in the United Kingdom yet the location of the vehicle is in the U.S. :confused:
 
It may sound funny, but I am kind of familiar with this specific 4Runner. Now, let me explain to you how I know about this. Back in December 2004, my dad traded his X5 for a 4Runner. Out of curiosity, I searched ebay for his old vehicle just to see how much it went for. The Toyota dealer happend to sell it to a place called McManus Industries. I kept on checking their website to see if the X5 was sold and it finally was sold in January 2005; which is around the time I saw this specific 4Runner listed. I compared VIN numbers and they match. Just to note, the sellers name does not match this place (McManus Industries) that was listed on the X5 auction so I am assuming this seller bought it off of them. Here is a previous listing for that same 4Runner. Maybe you could call up this place and get some more info. I have no idea how legit McManus Industries is because I never dealt with them personally.

The pictures are the same between the two listings, but a substantial difference in price. I wonder if it is a scam similar to this

It's really looks like someone has highjacked the sellers account (dcmanagement). The seller has no history of vehicle sales. And, as MARK86 has pointed out, it's a duplicate ripoff of another comapanies website listing the vehicle.

A private auction for pre-approved buyers only?? The scammer is looking to con someone through email.

It looks like someone has stolen the pictures, and the description. All they had to do is figure out the password of the account, change the account details and create a new account password and email. Then the scammer will get all contact for the auction, and if dcmanagement is not paying attention to his account, he won't ever know, since he won't get any email from it. eBay should be sent this information IMMEDIATELY so they can close this auction and investigate.

As always, if it's too good to be true, it usually is. Buyer beware.

EDIT: PS: The website http://www.mcmanusindustries.com/car_details.asp?CarID=383 is also incorrect in stating that the truck has 3rd row seats, even in their pictures, it obviously does not, and as someone has stated, it was not offered in the 2003 model year at all. 3rd row was a 2004 feature option. Really poor research on their part I think.

Yeah I clicked on the link this morning and the auction was dead. Looks like Ebay put 2 and 2 together and got 5. I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought something was wrong with the whole deal.
 
For fun, I contacted the seller before the auction was stopped by eBay and received an email back. How could you lose? Here it is....

Thank you for your interest in my 4Runner. I want you to know that I closed my auction earlier because someone has offered me the buy it now price, but didn't have all the money available and I cannot accept financing because time is a real issue for me. The price I want to obtain for it is $12,000 (this price includes shippment and insurance charges). We recently opened a small business in Greece and we moved here. We found out that we cannot register the truck here, because it is an US model and Europe regulations are different from the US ones. Also we haven't paid yet the duties for bringing it here and if we sell it back to US there will be no more duties to be paid. Now we have our money stucked with this vehicle, and the low price is for a fast cash deal.

The truck is like new, completely working, low miles, 2003 model, having three more years extended warranty. It is in awesome condition and has always been kept in a garage. It is an US model with US specs and passed the US test emissions. The title is CLEAR and CLEAN and you will have no problem registering it in your state. The truck will come with all the papers (title, warranty, insurance etc. ...).

The shipping costs and the insurance taxes of the shipment will be down to me and you will pay the fees for transferring the money (about 5% of the total amount).

This is a large purchase, so we'll use a third party for this transaction as I want a smooth and safe transaction. Since I already used Square Trade several times before and both me and my partners were more than content with them, we'll use their services again. I have a purchase protection account of $20,000 with them. If this is your first time using Square Trade here are their terms: if you will not receive the truck exactly as advertised or you won't receive it in 20 days since you made the deposit, Square Trade will refund you from my Square Trade account.

I am requesting a $6,000 REFUNDABLE deposit prior shipping and the balance to be paid after delivery and inspection. If you are not 100% content with the truck, you will ship it back on my expense to get your deposit back. I am sure this will not happen, because this Toyota is a state of the art vehicle and you will have no reason to reject it.

If you agree with these terms, please send me your full name, home and shipping address and I will send you more details and I will register the transaction with Square Trade asap.

Wow. It says right at the top of the ended auction that eBay has ended the auction and anyone contacted should NOT pay any money.
