Does Toyota's product managers review this site?

Ive worked for a couple of companies that had user group sites, and we employed people to keep tabs on what was being talked about, sometimes interveining in the event that something seriously negative happened

So I was just wondering if anyone on the site knows if our freinds at Toyota monitor what is talked about?

You never know! I'm not too much anymore, but I use to be pretty active on runnersworld.com's forum. They had people from Asics there, and they NO CRAP took advice from the people on the board. They were more involved however, asking for feedback on shoes and what features they wanted on the new model etc. It was kind of neat. Obviously a 4runner is something that is less flexible for change than a running shoe... but this could be a golden site for Toyota. Lets hope they do...the feedback on this site could abort potential disasters like wussifying the 4runner.
 
Scuba equipment manufacturers are present and active on scubaboard.com

I only wish Toyota would do the same and have someone frequenting this forum and others.

They may find a lot of useful information :biggrin2:
 
I don't believe we have anyone here officially from Toyota.

They do read forums like this, though. A while back, I want to say they posted on TundraSolutions about the issues with the 2007 Tundra.

I'm sure there are people reading this forum that are employees of Toyota Motor Sales USA in one way or another. They'd be crazy not to read the forum, as there's a wealth of market research and customer satisfaction data out here. There are a lot of legal issues and corporate responsibilities if they were to post things in an official capacity, so only a couple of people in the organization would even be authorized to do so. I doubt we'll ever see a posting from someone official.

Woohoo! Hey, whoever at Toyota is reading this, please come out with a TRD package for the T4R like you have for the FJ with locking rear diffy, etc. Thanks :)

Get rid of those stupid 18'' inch rims on the Limited and change them to 17''s as stock equipment.

Because 18'' tires in off road patterns are almost twice the price of 17''-16'' or 15'' tires

And then fire the ass of the marketing dork that came up with that stupid suggestion.

Other than the lack of a locker mentioned above and the rim size I like your product

I see your point about the rims, but for the 90% of the Limited owners who will never need loud a$$ all terrain mud tire, we can care less. The 18 inch wheel looks real nice and adds a touch of class you should get for plopping 40+K for a truck.

OK Joseph you have a point,

then, Please Mr Toyota, add heated seats as an option to an SR5 or Sport, so shmucks like me who like a warm backside can get the creature comforts along with some off-road-ability

and a locking rear diff option

is that too much to ask? I feel like Im speaking to Santa!

Also, get rid of these god awful seats. Make the roof higher, raise the seatig position, and move the cupholders everywhere. Not everyone is under 6ft tall, this isn't Japan. The cupholder location is putrid, and there is ZERO thigh support.

If you can slide your hand between the seat and the back of your thigh, that means no thigh support. At least not for tall drivers. So basically, my right knee is much higher than my hip. This makes for plenty of fatigue. Also makes for coffee pants since my leg rests against the left cup holder (dumbest location for a cupholder I've ever seen). These two reason, primarily the thigh support issue, is the reason I am not keeping this truck when the lease is up. Other than that, I absolutely love this truck. The drivetrain is amazing. I just test drove a new MDX, and I left thinking, WHAT LUXURY? The 4runner engine was so much smoother tranmitss barely any engine vibrations to the steering wheel while the MDX engine had no low end grunt and felt plenty of vibration in the cabin.
 
I agree about the thigh support. I'm 6'-2" and we got one without a sunroof because of the headroom issue. The other complaint I have is the lack of powerpoints in the front. One is not enough!

Last night, in an attempt to correct my issue, I raised my seat. I had it real low before, but since it's only the back part of the seat that raises, this doesn't really affect the thigh support issue. I still am trying it though, and oh my god, my hair is scraping on the ceiling...LOL. I'm 6'4" and I have a sunroof, so you can imagine. I really hope they resolve that issue amongts others in the next generation 4runner.
