Does your E-brake light come on while starting?

My e-brake recently decided to remove itself while wheeling awhile back, and I'm use to parking this truck with the e-brake set (i have a manual trans)so maybe i have never noticed this before.

I was doing some work on my pile today and fixing exhaust leaks. And I noticed that when cranking the truck over the brake light comes on. It comes on with the rest of the dash lights and then goes off with them as well once started. I can't recall off the top of my head but i believe the charging indicator , and oil pressure light come on while cranking then go off once the vehicle starts.

Maybe this is normal and i have not ever noticed it. Any word on this?

I searched around a little and on older 4runners the brake light will come on with the charging indicator. Its some sort of way to get your attention if the alternator fails. anyways. can someone let me know if their trucks do this or its some sort of issue

You aren't seeing an 'e' brake light, that is a rear anti-lock/abs system check and it is doing what it is supposed to. In those first few moments of starting, it checks : brake fluid levels, sensor communication, and motor/actuator activation. The MIL stays on if there is a problem.
